CAIRO-30 September 2021: Egypt national team playmaker, Abdullah El Said, believes that the team will arrive to the games against Libya in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in perfect shape.

“We are a big name in African football but football is not about history. We have to do everything to win the two matches against Libya. We have to reach Libya’s Matches in perfect condition.” El Said said on Wednesday.

The Carlos Queiroz’s era starts tonight at Borg El Arab stadium in Alexandria, where Egypt will be facing Liberia in a friendly game.

The game will be the Pharaohs’ only test ahead of the crucial games against Libya in Cairo and Benghazi in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Queiroz is set to announce the team’s final list for Libya’s matches after Liberia’s match.

Queiroz was appointed the national team manager to succeed Hossam El Badry, who was sacked following Egypt’s disappointing performance in the first two matches of the qualifiers.

El Said added “The change in the coaching staff happened in a critical time but our new coach has the experience needed to help the team improve. We are professionals and we will adapt to the manager’s style of play. I am sure that we will defeat Libya and improve our situation in the group.”

Egypt comes second in group F of the African World Cup qualifiers with four points, two points behind the group leaders, Libya.
