CAIRO-5 August 2021: Spain lost to France 27-23 on Thursday in the semi-finals and they will face Egypt in the bronze-medal match.

Denmark, the defending champions, will face France in a repeat of 2016 Rio Olympic Games final, which ended with a victory for the Scandinavian side.

Spain have three bronze Olympic medals, which they won in 1996 in Atlanta, 2000 in Sydney and 2008 in Beijing and they hope to add another bronze medal to their bag.

The Egyptians did not reach the podium of the Olympics in their six previous participations and they hope to return to Egypt with a medal around the neck for the first time in history.

"I really hope that we reach the podium on Saturday because that is what this team deserves. This is what we deserve, this is our level, this is not only luck or a part of our team that we're boosting. I feel that this will be our level for the next years." Egypt's Yahia Khaled spoke after the game against France.

The two teams know eachother very well as they have had several training sessions together in the build-up to the competition.

The game is scheduled on Saturday at 10:00 AM.
