CAIRO – 7 July 2017: Zamalek returns to Egyptian League matches after loss against KAPS United last Sunday. Zamalek won 2-1 over Al-Ittihad on Thursday in the 37th week of the Egyptian League.

Both teams started the match trying to score the first goal in order to have the upper hand in the game, but both teams’ players missed many chances to end the first half without a goal.

Mostafa Fathy, Zamalek winger, scored the first goal in the match for Zamalek in the 68th minute, after many passes between Zamalek players. Bassem Morsi scored Zamalek’s second goal in the match through a penalty in the 88th minute.

Mohamed Abdel Magid scored Al-Ittihad’s only goal in the match before the final whistle.

Zamalek stayed in the third position with 66 points, while Al-Ittihad stayed in the eighth position with 44 points.

Zamalek’s remaining match in the League will be against their rivals Al-Ahly, current champions, in Cairo Derby.
