CAIRO-2 May 2021: Mohamed Awwad, Zamalek's third-choice goalkeeper, is expected to start for Zamalek against Pyramids on Sunday night in the Egyptian League.

Sunday's game could witness Awwad's first appearance for Zamalek since the first of February 2020.

The player will be back to the White Knights' starting line-up as Zamalek's standing goalkeepers, Mahmoud Gennesh and Mohamed Abo Gabal, will miss the game.

Abo Gabal was tested positive for COVID-19 while Gennesh missed the last two training sessions due to back injury.

Also, the team's defenders Ahmed Fattouh and Mahmoud Hamdy El Wensh are fully recovered from their injuries and they are set to return to the team's starting line-up.

Zamalek hope to be back to victories in the league after losing two points in the 2-2 draw against Arab Contractors as they aim to extend their lead atop of the table.

The White Knights are leading the league table with 40 points, three points ahead of the second-placed Al Ahly, who still have two games in hand.

The game starts at 9:30 PM.
