CAIRO - 5 July 2017: Seventeen year old Timothy Weah will be following his father’s footsteps by joining George Weah’s former team Paris Saint-Germain FC (PSG).

“I am very proud to continue the adventure. I am in a big club and I look forward to continuing to progress so that I can one day play for the first team,” said Weah to PSG’s official website.

Weah junior scored a hat-trick on his debut at the UEFA Youth League which contributed to a great 8-1 victory against the Bulgarian club, PFC Ludogorets Razgrad, according to PSG’s official website.

His 50 year old father, George Weah, is considered to be the only African player who managed to win the Ballon d’Or in 1995. The Liberian legend was also chosen 3 times as African Footballer of the Year.

Weah played for PSG from 1992 to 1995 before playing for many European giants, including AC Milan for 5 years.
