CAIRO – 10 February 2021: Egypt’s Ambassador to Berlin Khaled Galal said that the number of tourist flights coming from Germany to Hurghada will increase in March.

This comes after German popular airliner “Condor” resumed its flights to Hurghada since last Saturday, where it operated flights that carried around 220 passengers to the same destination.

The airliner will operate a weekly flight from Germany to Hurghada on Thursdays until the end of February, Ambassador said, adding that the number of flights is expected to increase in March.

These flights are operated in coordination with the Ministry of Tourism, and the General Administration of Quarantine at the Ministry of Health.

Ambassador Galal explained that this move comes as part of the Ministry of Tourism’s strategy to launch a safe tourist corridor between Germany and Egyptian tourist destinations in the Red Sea.

The number of German tourists who came to Egypt before the Coronavirus pandemic reached 1.8 million in 2019, ranking the first among tourists flocking to Egypt from different countries.
