CAIRO – 03 July 2017: One could discover many places and engage with nature activities in theSinai. Mostafa Shokry who organizes adventure camps for children, teenagers and families takes it a notch further. His utmost preparation results in a programme and a list of activities where every young participant will find something to get their hands and senses on. Having just returned from ‘preparing the ground’ for the end of July adventure, Shokry shared with Egypt Today what treats await the children who join the three-day adventure camp in Sinai Mountains.

Sleeping bags and warm clothes is all the 8-11 year old pupils need to bring before they give themselves to the caring eye of Shokry and his team. Young adventurers will be exploring the nature spots of St Catherine while hiking and sleeping in a tent at the Bedouin mountain farm. There is no chance to escape the outdoor activities while you are there so enjoy what nature has to offer while sleeping and cooking under the stars.

One could think that with nature comes leisure but not quite so for the young ones. The reward comes with effort. They will discover how to make a fire and cook food. Shokry will teach how to put the fire in order to keep the animals away. For anyone having trouble with the mosquitoes there will be a solution which may seem almost like a secret knowledge. Wait till your children come back reciting the special types of herbs acting as natural mosquito repellants. Something almost any traveler could do with to ease the side effects during the exotic travels.

While staying at the mountain farm the young ones will learn about the Bedouin way of life and this includes milking the goats. Many may wonder and may be eager to see if it will bring a smile or tears to the young children used to an urban life. Besides the milking, children will learn about making cheese products and even powdered goat’s milk.

Young participants will be giving suggestions on what they are going to do. Other activities may include theatre, stargazing, or learning about sheep skin products and the process of making rugs and carpets.

The Bedouin way would not be complete without the camels. During the camp children can learn how to deal with the animals, how to make the camels drink and how to feed them.

The adventure is an opportunity to get in touch with the spirit of nature. Children can also explore the apple trees and blackberry vines at the farm. Shokry added that the schedule is flexible enough to allow for activities to be replaced according to the needs and wants of the children.

There are still a few spots available for the July camp and the goats are waiting to be milked. Farm and Mountain Adventure for 8-11 years is available from LE 960 per participant. The three-day event goes from July 27-30. For bookings call: 01010822807
