CAIRO – 20 December 2020: The Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion received the first flight coming from Germany’s capital Berlin carrying 125 passengers aboard.

This is the first flight from Berlin since the inbound tourism to Egypt was resumed in July. The tourists were warmly welcomed with flowers and souvenirs.

Head of Domestic tourism sector at the authority, Eman Mahmoud, affirmed that the German market is one of the main tourist markets for Egypt.

The flight comes as a result of efforts made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Egyptian Embassy in Germany to restore German tourist movement to Egypt, in coordination with the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

Last September, Minister of Tourism Khaled el-Anani paied a short visit to Berlin, which is the first visit by an Egyptian official to Germany since the emerge of the Coronavirus crisis.
