CAIRO - 19 July 2020: After a three-month hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, EgyptAir resumed its first regular flights to Sudanese capital, Khartoum, while the Hurghada International Airport received Sunday the first flight from Serbia.

"The Hurghada International Airport received Sunday the first flight; as many as 180 tourists were on board," an official source from the airport said in a press release.

"Officials from the airport public relations' department welcomed the tourist delegation with flowers and souvenirs, in coordination with the Tourism Promotion Authority," the source added.

All the precautionary measures have been taken, and the passengers had their luggage sanitized before leaving the airport.

Meanwhile, the flight to Sudan comes among the first regular flights operated by the state-owned company to other destinations including Istanbul, Nairobi and N'Djamena starting September 1, 2020, in light of the company’s plan to return its international flights to many cities around the world.

The Cairo International Airport received on Sunday 59 international and domestic flights, carrying about 8,862 Egyptians, while the number of flights leaving to several destinations in Europe, Africa, Asia and Arab countries, and carrying 4,109 passengers, reached 56.
