April 5, 2020 –LastMarch 2020, Al Ahly Sabbour, the leading real estate developer, is joining forces with the Tahya Masr fund to supply COVID-19 patients with ventilators and a total of 75,000 test kits to help identify cases. This is an attempt by Al Ahly Sabbour to support the efforts exerted by the government and local communities to curb the spread of COVID-19 and provide assistance to physicians by delivering supplies to the 7 hospitals built to treat COVID-19 patients across Egypt. Moreover, the company is also securing 250 tons of basic daily supply of food and necessary items through an initiative to support 30,000 Egyptian low-income families and daily hire employees who were severely affected by the outbreak. Starting with Cairo and Giza, the initiative aims at ensuring that families stay at home in order to reduce chances of contracting the virus.

Eng. Ahmed Sabbour, CEO of Al Ahly Sabbour, said “the initiative comes in line with the company’s commitment to its social responsibility towards Egyptian communities, as well as our firm belief in the significant role played by private-sector companies and the business community in times of crisis in order to contribute to developing our community. We had to adopt a positive attitude in dealing with the situation we’re currently facing and be proactive as we work to eliminate and curb the spread of COVID-19 in Egypt.” He went on to add “this situation requires serious, collaborative efforts and an urgent sense of unity between all sides in order to overcome this phase; which is why as Al Ahly Sabbour, we are employing all of our strengths to help the government in its efforts to support citizens in order to ensure we get back on our feet sooner than expected.”

Since the beginning of the global outbreak of COVID-19, the Egyptian government has been showing profound efforts to contain its spread by employing high safety measures while maintaining access to day-to-day needs.

As for Al Ahly Sabbour, the company has taken all necessary precautions to avoid the spread of COVID-19 and maintain the well-being of its employees, the people present on their premises, and workers across construction sites. The company is abiding by all the regulations issued by both the Egyptian Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization including reducing the number of employees within the administrative building, as well as providing engineers, technicians, and security personnel with masks and gloves.

Moreover, the company carried out a comprehensive sterilization process across its offices and construction sites, appointed a number of doctors within its facilities to follow up with the status of employees’ health, and distributed info-graphs raising awareness and showing instructions to avoid the spread of COVID-19. Al Ahly Sabbour is working hard to balance between the well-being of all employees and continue working as the real estate sector drives several industries with it.
