CAIRO - 7 November 2019: - Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Holding Company Ahmed Adel has called on all airlines to reach solutions for reducing the scale of carbon emissions.

Adel's call came in a speech at the 52nd annual general assembly meeting of the Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO) in Kuwait, in the presence of board chairmen of Arab airlines and more than regional and international 300 experts in the field of aviation, according to a statement released by the company on Thursday.

During his speech, the company's chairman said that all airlines should make good use of advanced technology to cut the scale of emissions from the burning of aircraft fuel, for their negative impact on environment, the statement added.

Also, he shed light on the air transport's role in achieving sustainable development and securing jobs in other sectors that are related to the aviation field.

The AACO general assembly meeting approved the new formation of members, who were elected in the executive committee until 2022.

The meeting urged all aviation companies to consider the ICAO global system on compensation for the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) as the only market-based international aviation mechanism.
