CAIRO – 29 May 2017: A three-week campaign promoting Egyptian tourism in the Italian market kicked off Monday, Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board Chairman Hisham el-Demery stated.

The campaign advertisements will be aired on thirteen Italian television channels, which are considered the most watched in Italy, Demery said, adding that the campaign will also expand to digital and social media outlets.

Demery further revealed that Egypt's tourism promotion campaign in Germany has been postponed, to start in August 2017.

Inbound tourism to Egypt increased by a total of 51 percent in the first quarter of 2017, Demery said, explaining that the Arab market registered a 38 percent increase, while the number of European tourists travelling to Egypt surged by 60 percent.
