CAIRO – 29 September 2017: Pope Francis will meet Wednesday with the Egyptian Minister of Tourism Yehia Rashed, to confirm the flight of the Holy Family to Egypt seeking refuge.

“Egypt is proud of the Holy family’s journey,” said Rashed Thursday in a telephone interview with TV presenter Osama Kamal.

Rashed added that the visit comes as part of efforts to revive and support Egyptian tourism industry: “Indications show that the next season is going to see a big increase in the number of tourists visiting Egypt.”

During his visit to Cairo last April to promote dialogue with the Muslim world following recent attacks against the Middle East’s biggest Christian community, Pope Francis, under the slogan “pope of peace in Egypt of peace,” denounced violence committed in God’s name.
