He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the School of Open Learning at the University of Delhi and then he received a Master's degree in political science from Gujarat University.

In 1965, Modi offered his services voluntarily to the soldiers at the railway stations during the Indo-Pak war.

Modi was sworn as the 14th prime minister of India on May 26, 2014.
