CAIRO – 8 September 2017: With our progress as humans, life is becoming much quicker as if Earth itself has started spinning faster, and it is stressful. But, fortunately, that same progress gifts us with advanced ways to relax, one of which is “Simple Habit Meditation”, a meditation application for busy people that allows them to have short breaks along their day to try and regroup their “chill” powers.

The application: With sessions recorded by a big number of spiritual teachers, mindfulness experts and former monks, Simple Habit Meditation offers 50+ free sessions and a premium library containing 1,000+ sessions, dealing with a variety of issues, such as sleeping problems, stress, finding happiness, focusing and much more.

The application scored 100k+ downloads and a 4.6 rating on Google Play and a 4.9 rating on the Apple store.

Simple Habit is also full of helpful options such as the “On the Go” tab which offers you a variety of sessions depending on whichever situation you are in now from walking to having a tough day and then offers you a more specific list of meditation session suitable for a variety of situations. As for the “Series” tab, which displays all available meditation sessions and categorizes them according to topic or popularity. It also offers podcasts on dealing with topics such as health, relationships, family, work and being a student.

Another two great features are the “Reminder”, which allows you to set timed reminder notifications to take a short break and listen to a session, and the “Calendar Tracking System”, which can be very useful, as it marks which days you meditated on and motivates you to have a streak of a longer number of days.

The downside:

Some users complained on Google play that, even though the application is convenient and practical when it comes to their busy daily life, the best sessions are reserved to premium users, which is the case in most applications. Also the application relies on Internet connection to load its sessions as you choose them, which is the smarter move to keep the application light. The application, however, does not allow you to download a session to listen to it when you are offline unless you are a premium user.

The experience:

After trying two sessions back to back (the introduction session by Cory Muscara and the “stressed” session from the “having a tough day” section, in “On the Go” tab), the results were quite remarkable. My head felt calm and my body relaxed. The session is generally a person talking to you for 5,10 or 20 minutes in a calming voice, giving you instructions to clear your head, relax your body and monitor your breathing.
