With 84 years of history in Egypt, the British Council has played an impactful role in supporting the development of education, arts, and culture here in Egypt. The British Council in Egypt is the earliest British Council in the world where it opened its first overseas door here in 1938. Throughout that time, the British Council has remained focused on its vision of the development the education in Egypt.

In light of these dedicated efforts, we had a delightful and insightful talk with Elizabeth White, Country Director of British Council, Egypt where she has spoken about their vision, their role in supporting teachers, education, higher education collaboration, and more.

“We aim to identify areas where exchange and collaboration between arts organizations or individuals in Egypt and the UK can be of mutual benefit and interesting for both sides.” Elizabeth White, Country Director – British Council Egypt
