Often times we try to fix the ones we love and even carry it as a responsibility on our shoulders to help them deal better with life and with themselves. But the truth is, we make a mistake every time we assume someone wants to be fixed or wants to be helped. Giving support to those we care about is one thing, but trying to fix them is a total different story, especially when you are trying to help someone who doesn’t want to help themselves. Caught in this dilemma, we end up frustrated, or even angry that we couldn’t help put them on the right track where in fact there is nothing really we can do about it. Before you drain yourself, here are 5 types of people you can’t fix.

1. The Victim-Minded
This type of people will set the blame on everything around them but never themselves. Their lacking of emotional maturity drives them to blame people, circumstances, or even fate and destiny but would never hold themselves accountable for their own choices and mistakes.

2. The Doubtful
There is never light at the end of the tunnel for this type of person. They’d rather be skeptical of everything and everyone rather than believe that any good is coming their way. Their talk is usually negative, full of doubt, and they tend to criticize all the time. The worst thing about this type in specific is that over time, and if you get too close, your mindset will shift to doubts from the constant negative talk they fill your head with.

3. The Self-Righteous
They act like they know it all and they think that it is only their opinion that counts or makes sense; this comes from their close-minded nature. Self-righteous people always think that everyone should step up instead of them and if you ever point fingers at them, they get defensive. They refuse to see through their flaws and tend to be insecure.

4. The Resistant
This type is resistant to change, advice, and help. They would hear you talk them through things but they are not actually listening because they just want to jump in with whatever replies that defy your theory. They don’t invest in the time or effort needed for change because they’re afraid of it, even if it is for their good. They want everything served on a silver platter and maybe even then, they won’t accept it.

5. The Oblivious
This type of people live in denial, they refuse to believe that they have a problem and never read the situation right. Oblivious people are not in touch with the world around them and even when you try to make the picture clear they will deny that this can be possible. They live in their own bubble according to their metrics and beliefs.
