CAIRO – 9 November 2021: Charter flights from Russia to Red Sea resorts in Egypt resumed Tuesday after a long suspension.

Regular flights resumed Tuesday to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh resorts, which is believed to contribute to increasing the flow of tourists from Egypt to Russia.

The Federation of Tour Operators said that with the resumption of charter flights, the price of tourist trip from Russia to Egypt decreased by 20 percent, and officials in the Russian tourism sector indicated that the price of a tourist trip for a week by charter flight now ranges from 15 thousand to 26 thousand rubles.

In addition to the resumption of irregular flights with Egypt, flights from Russia to Thailand, Tunisia, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Iran, Oman, Slovenia and the Bahamas were resumed Tuesday.

On August 9 of this year, regular flights from Russia to Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada were resumed. This came after Moscow and Cairo agreed in April of this year to fully resume air traffic between the two countries, including with Egyptian resorts.
