We all love to smell nice all day long, but often time we notice that our perfume begins to wear off midday. This is because you are applying your perfume the wrong way, and yes as surprising as it might sound, there is a wrong and right way for applying a perfume. If you are the type of person who spends most of their day away from home and hate carrying the bottle around everywhere you go, follow these tips that will keep your fragrance lasting longer.

1. Apply your fragrance after your shower on damp skin.
Damp skin will lock the scent in and prevent your delicate fabrics from getting stained. Wait a few minutes for the scent to dry before you put on your clothes. If you get dressed too quickly, the scent will rub off.

2. Spritz directly on your pulse points.
Fragrances react to heat, so applying perfume to your pulse points will intensify the scent. Spritz your perfume on your neck, nape, wrists, inside your elbows, the back of your knees, below your midriff, in addition to your calves and ankles.

3. Spritz don’t mist.
Spraying perfume from a distance in the air is not only wastes a lot of your bottle but also barely keeps the fragrance lasting long. Spritz the perfume directly on your skin to keep it longer.

4. Avoid rubbing your wrists together.
Rubbing your wrists together will cause the top notes to break down and fade faster, accordingly your fragrance will not last long.

5. Prep with a little Vaseline on your skin.
Apply a little Vaseline on your pulse point before you spritz your perfume. The ointment in petroleum jelly helps hold the fragrance for longer. You can also use an unscented moisturizer to lock the scent in and keep it lingering around longer.

6. Spritz on the top of your ears.
The oilier your skin, the more it can lock in the scent and the top of the ears is a bit oilier than behind your earlobes, hence it will hold your fragrance longer.

7. Apply on your hairbrush.
For an extra scent in your hair, apply a little perfume on your hairbrush and run it through your hair. Avoid spraying directly on your hair as the alcohol can damage your hair.
