CAIRO – 21 March 2021: Qubbat El-Ghoury Center- affiliated to the Cultural Development Fund sector- will host a new show on March 25 at 7 p.m. for the Reda Folklore Group- affiliated to the Artistic House for Folk and Performing Arts.

 

 

The show will be held with the application of all the precautionary measures to battle COVID-19, where the band will perform some of its most famous dances.

 

 

It is worth noting that Reda Band was founded by artist Mahmoud Reda in association with the first dancer, designer and music composer of the band Ali Reda and the first female dancer Farida Fahmy, with the support of Engineering professor Hassan Fahmy. The band’s first performance was held in August 1959. 

 

 

In 1961, the band became state-owned and was managed by the brothers Mahmoud and Ali Reda. Music composer Ali Ismail formed an orchestra for the band under his leadership and composed the band’s most famous performances. 
 

 

The group starred in three cinematic films that were met with wide public success; “Agazet Nos el-Sana”, “Gharam Fel Karnak, and “Harami el-Waraqa”. The band roamed the world and represented Egypt in various festivals. 
 

 

Reda Band presented more than 3,000 performances in the most important and prestigious stages of the world.
