CAIRO – 16 March 2021: Head of the General Egyptian Book Organization Haitham el-Hag Ali said that holding cultural events and preparing a program for the Cairo International Book Fair will be decided by the Exhibition Committees and that in any case there will be daily activities.

Ali said in press statements that he will ask the committee to limit the activities of the Cairo International Book Fair. He further explained that this year’s activities should focus more on what is clearly related to books, the number of visitors within each event must be determined in advance and the activities must be held in open areas.

Moreover, Ali stated that calculating the number of publishing houses participating in the book fair in its new session [scheduled to start on June 30, 2021 with four days more than usual] can only be determined after closing the door to participation, which starts on May 4 and lasts for a month.

In previous press statements Ali revealed that the new edition of the Cairo International Book Fair will witness special publishing projects for the General Egyptian Book Organization, with a focus on children's publications, and an emphasis on writing for young people, in addition to comics and pocket book series.
