CAIRO – 16 March 2021: On March 16, Egypt’s Minister of Tourism & Antiquities Khaled el-Enany received in his office Ambassador Ana Milena Muñoz de Gaviria, Ambassador of Colombia to Cairo, to discuss strengthening cooperation between the two countries at the touristic and archaeological levels.

 

 

They discussed cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism, including organizing promotional programs for tourist destinations in the two countries, and "Fam Trips" for representatives of the media, bloggers and influencers.

 

 

It was also agreed to organize meetings between major tour operators, travel agencies in Colombia, officials at the ministry and the Egyptian Tourism Federation to start organizing tourists trips to Egypt, in addition to strengthening cooperation between the Egyptian Tourism Federation and its counterparts in Colombia. 

 

 

They also agreed to air the promotional films of the ministry on Colombian television stations, to promote the Egyptian tourist destination.

 

 

The ambassador expressed her country's desire to benefit from Egyptian expertise in the field of tourism, as well as benefiting from Egyptian expertise in the field of repatriation of antiquities, the bilateral efforts in the field of cultural and archaeological heritage preservation and combating illegal trade of antiquities.
