3rd Rashid bin Hamad Al-Sharqi Creativity Award - Social media
CAIRO – 4 March 2021: The third Rashid bin Hamad Al-Sharqi Creativity Award announced the opening of application for the award, which came at the initiative of Chairman of the Fujairah Culture & Media Authority Rashid bin Hamad Al-Sharqi, with the aim of nurturing Arab literary and critical talents.
The award encourages the talented and supports them both financially and morally, publishing Arabic literary production, critical studies and historical research of Arab creators around the world.
It is also concerned with opening up to others through dialogue and bridging the gaps that advocates extremism and intolerance in all its forms.
The award targets Arab novelists in the field of Arabic fiction in two categories: Arabic Novel for Seniors and Arabic Novel for those younger than 40 years, in addition to the Emirati fiction field for Emirati writers, which is for all ages.
The award additionally targets Arab innovators of all ages in the field of critical studies and historical research, as well as young people under the age of 40 exclusively in the fields of short story, drama, poetry and children's literature, provided that the competing works are written in Standard Arabic, and deal with humanitarian issues concerned with being open to the other through dialogue and advocating against violence and extremism.
The award’s jury includes professors who specialize in categories suitable for their field of work in literature and culture.
The winners will be awarded valuable financial prizes, and the works of the first ten winners will be translated and published in both Arabic and English.
