The Beni Hasan Necropolis is a group of tombs carved in the mountain, located about 20 kilometers south of the city of Minya.

On the upper part of the mountain there are about 40 large tombs from the era of the Sixth Dynasty (2345--2181 BC towards the end of the Old Kingdom) and the Twelfth Dynasty (1985-1795 BC and during the Middle Kingdom).

The rulers of the 15th region were also buried in Upper Egypt, such as the tombs of Khnumhotep II, Amenemhat, Baqet III and Kheti, all are in a great state of preservation. Its walls are decorated with beautiful inscriptions of bright colors.

There are many other tombs in Beni Hasan, some of which date back to the late era (664-332 BC), Ptolemaic period (332-30 BC) and the Roman era (from the beginning of the year 30 BC).
