CAIRO – 3 July 2017: Al-Hayah Satellite TV channel’s frequency went off Monday, in an initial action initiated by Media City Production Company to suspend the debt-ridden privately-owned channel, a press statement released by Media City production city said on Monday.

The channel’s board failed to meet the due time set by the media production company to pay its overdue payments, the statement read, adding that it tried to work it out in friendly ways by sending several notices before it decided to terminate its frequency as the TV channel owners remained unresponsive.

Additionally, Al-Hayah TV channel’s board members have a long-running dispute with its working staff ceased working since the TV channel’s board members have reportedly also failed to pay them up. The channel’s staff strike prevented its most-viewed program “Al-Hayah Al-Youm” from airing.
