CAIRO – 9 February 2021: The National Theater Center is preparing to sign a joint cooperation protocol with the Coptic Orthodox Church to photograph and document church theater performances, under the auspices of Anba Moussa.

 

This comes in implementation of the directives of the Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem to document and preserve the Egyptian theatrical heritage.

 

Abdel Dayem said that the protocol comes within the efforts of the Ministry of Culture to sponsor creativity aimed at spreading enlightenment throughout the country.

 

The Minister of Culture indicated that the ecclesiastical theater was affected by the development of the Egyptian theater and shifted from focusing on preaching to presenting performances that contribute to raising awareness of contemporary issues, stressing that the Egyptian people are united in a harmonious national fabric that works together sincerely to achieve the desired progress for Egypt.
