CAIRO – 17 December 2020: On December 17, many important events took place that changed the world. On this day, many stars of art, politics, and literature were born.  The day also marks the celebration of annual events.

 

 

 

Important events in world history:- 

 

-  1267: Friday prayers are held for the first time in Al-Azhar Mosque in Cairo, during the reign of Sultan Al-Zahir Baybars.

 

-  1903: The success of the first attempt at engine flight by the Wright brothers.

 

-  1913: Amin Al-Rafi'i issues "Al-Akhbar Newspaper" in Egypt.

 

-  2003: French President Jacques Chirac announces, in a speech, that he has accepted an official report recommending that children should not be allowed to wear religious symbols such as crosses, Islamic headscarves and Jewish caps.

 

-  2010: Tunisian young man Mohamed Bouazizi sets himself on fire in front of the state headquarters of Sidi Bouzid.

 

-  2019: The Special Court in Islamabad issues a death sentence against former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf for high treason.
