CAIRO – 13 December 2020: The Libraries Sector of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina is organizing an interactive online lecture (webinar) entitled "Between Thought and Language", given by Medhat Issa; linguist researcher and director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Manuscripts Center, on December 14 at 3 p.m.

 

The webinar coincides with the celebration of the World Arabic Language Day in December 18 of every year.

 

The webinar will be available through Facebook through the page Bibliotheca Alexandrina - Information Services.

 

Also on the sidelines of the International Day of the Arabic Language, the Libraries Sector is organizing an interactive session entitled "Common Mistakes in the Arabic Language", presented by Hussam Mustafa Ibrahim; writer and founder of the (Write Right) initiative, at one on December 17 at 1 p.m., through the page Bibliotheca Alexandrina - Information Services.

 

It is worth noting that the Arabic language is well-known as a pillar of the cultural diversity of humankind, in addition to being one of the oldest Semitic languages.

 

It is one of the most widespread languages ​​in the world, spoken by more than 422 million people. Its speakers are distributed in the Arab world, in addition to many other neighboring regions.

 

It is among the four most used languages ​​on the Internet, as well as the most widespread and growing superior to the French and Russian languages.
