“Bain Bahrein” documentary screens in Gamal Abdel Nasser’s Cultural Palace

CAIRO – 2 December 2020: Gamal Abdel Nasser’s Cultural Palace in the village of Bani Mur in Assiut governorate witnessed the screening of a documentary film entitled “Bain Bahrein” [Between Two Seas].

The film discusses the issue of female circumcision. A reflection symposium was held by Marwa Kadwani, the council's rapporteur, who presented a fundamental vision about the concept of female circumcision and the harms that result from it, which is widely spread in Upper Egypt.

The symposium concluded with awareness-raising against the dangers of female circumcision and the state's efforts to spread health awareness to rural women.
