CAIRO – 22 November 2020: Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem followed the activities of the cultural convoys organized by the General Authority for Cultural Palaces headed by Ahmed Awad to the border areas and the valleys of Sinai, the last of which was the valleys of Abu Zenimah in South Sinai.

 

Abdel Dayem said that the Valley Convoys Project aims to achieve cultural justice and supports citizens among community members.

 

She added that valley convoys completes the activities of the People of Egypt initiative organized by the authority to integrate children from border areas as one of the ministry's work axes to spread culture to every inch of the land of Egypt.

 

Also, Abdel Dayem further said it also aims to discover and support the talents of the people of the border regions and present them to the community through specialized workshops that are organized with the participation of a number of specialists in all arts, emphasizing that the Egyptian society is rich in talents in all creative fields.

 

It is noteworthy that the fifth convoy of the Valleys Caravans Project was organized in the Sarabit al-Khadem Valley in Abu Zneima and included an exhibition produced by children’s workshops in plastic arts, recycling of spent environment materials, music and singing workshops, and other poetry and recitation workshops.

 

That is in addition to the workshops for women in the art of Sinai embroidery, loom bedspreads, jewelry and beadwork, in which 125 children participated, including 70 girls and women from the valleys.
