CAIRO – 8 November 2020: A number of cultural and artistic events will be held in various cultural centers on November 8, including the initiative "Our heritage is our identity, let us protect it together", a ceremony within the art of hearing, a celebration of plastic artist Hassan el-Aasar, and a symposium on "The Confused Circle".

 

The National Organization for Urban Harmony, headed by Mohamed Abu Saada, will hold the third lecture in the series of heritage lectures that the organization holds within the initiative "Our heritage is our identity, let us protect it together", under the title "The impact of community participation on the resilience of heritage areas" at 6 p.m., through the Zoom application.

 

The Qubbat El-Ghoury Center in Al-Azhar Street, affiliated to the Cultural Development Fund sector, is holding, at 8:00 pm, a new concert of "Sama’a", in which the Indonesian artist Nour Akhiri, the guest of honor, presents a group of songs, invocations and selections of religious chanting. A group of distinguished voices will also participate in the ceremony.

 

The Fine Arts Sector will celebrate the inauguration of Hassan el-Aasar’s retrospective exhibition, at 7 p.m., at the Saad Zaghloul Cultural Center.

 

The Greater Cairo Library, affiliated to the Cultural Production Affairs Sector, will hold a cultural symposium to discuss the story "Confused Circle" by writer Samah Abu Bakr Ezzat, at 6 p.m., at the library's headquarters in Zamalek.

 

The story will be discussed by critic Mohamed Sayed Abdel Tawab, and writer Nashwa el-Hofi. The seminar will be moderated by Yasser Othman, director general of the Greater Cairo Library.
