CAIRO – 22 October 2020: Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem said that the Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome is a golden gateway to the Egyptian creativity into the heart of Europe and one of the arms of cultural diplomacy and the soft powers of Egypt.

She added that since the establishment of the academy, it has played an active role in the dialogue of civilizations between the people of Egypt and the people of Europe.

Abdel Dayem further stated that in light of the academy's pioneering role in transferring the various colors of thought, art and culture to Italy, a new exceptional season will be launched under the title “Egypt, Italy, Civilization, and Culture. A Friendship without Borders” that presents all creative colors of the Egyptian thought and art through online and live performances.

She emphasized that at the beginning of this season, the academy’s library will be reopened after several years of closure. The library houses more than 10,000 rare books, and is set to become a destination for Egyptian and Italian researchers and scholars.

Renowned archaeologist Zahi Hawass gave a speech in the opening ceremony on the newly discovered Egyptian antiquities in the Valley of the Kings and the pyramids area, where he asserted that the Pharaonic civilization still dazzles the world with its hidden secrets.
