CAIRO - 18 October 2020: Egypt’s El Gouna Film Festival to organize Women Empowerment Through Film panel.

While hashtags and campaigns flood Twitter to express outrage at the lack of women in front of the camera, there’s an equally charged discourse about women behind the camera.

Calling for equality for women in film includes actresses, writers, directors, producers, cinematographers, composers, producers, designers and stylists among a fleet of other roles that has no shortage of talented women to fulfil.

In this CineGouna Bridge panel ‘Women’s Empowerment Through Film’, leading women within their fields will lead a conversation surrounding the role of women in the film industry, and highlight how their unique perspectives and forte can shed light on the pressing issues that plague the film industry, and the necessary way forward for women to no longer face them.

A number of female prestigeous filmmakers will partcipate in this panel such as famed Egyptian actress Menna Shalaby, acclaimed film journalist, TV personality and producer Raya Abirached, Indian actress Richa Chadha, writer and director Najwa Najjar and general director Gehan el Tahri.

This riveting panel will take place at AUDIMAX on October 26th 12:30 PM.
