Several cultural, artistic events to be held on Oct. 7

CAIRO – 7 October 2020: A number of cultural and artistic events will be held in various creativity organizations and institutions on October 7.

 

The Egyptian Opera House is launching the new season of Egypt’s Creativity Salon, which begins with an evening entitled "Heroism from Sinai" presented by renowned poet Mohamed Bahgat at 7 p.m. at the Small Stage.

 

The evening comes within the framework of the celebrations of the October victories, where the poet narrates a group of heroic epics of the brave Egyptian armed forces that achieved the miracle of crossing the Suez Canal in 1973.

 

The Center for Film Culture of the National Center for Cinema holds a commemoration ceremony of the glorious October victory at 7 p.m. The celebration includes the screening of the two films "Heroes from Egypt" directed by Ahmed Rashid, and "Men behind the Fighters" directed by Ahmed Kenawy.

 

Furthermore, El-Sawy Culture Wheel in Zamalek is hosting at 7 p.m. a concert for the Egypador Band, a band founded by the oud player and author Mohamed Abu Zeid with two of his French friends residing in Egypt: Bertrand Mahue, an oud player; and Etienne Burhill, a clarinet player.

 

Also, the Tahrir Cultural Center at the American University in Cairo launches a series of films entitled "El-Gouna in Tahrir", in cooperation with the El-Gouna Film Festival, on October 7 at 7 p.m. at Ewart Memorial Hall.The series includes five distinct films that were screened in previous editions of the El-Gouna Film Festival.

 

The Sennari House [Beit Al-Sinnari] of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina’s Cultural Communication Sector organizes a free workshop for children under the title "Playing with Colors", set to be held on October 7 at the ancient headquarters of Beit Al-Sinnari in Sayyida Zeinab, Cairo.

 

The workshop focuses on teaching children several main themes related to color in an easy and simple manner that is appropriate for the age group.
