Numerous culture activities to be held on Sept. 29

CAIRO – 29 September 2020: On September 29, 2020, a number of cultural events will be held in several creative institutions, most notably a seminar organized by the Supreme Council for Culture on renewing religious discourse, and a celebration held at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina to mark the 50th anniversary for the passing of late leader Gamal Abdel Nasser.

 

The Supreme Council of Culture holds the symposium “Citizenship and the Crisis of Religious and Cultural Discourse in Egypt” organized by the Committee of Philosophy, Sociology and Anthropology at 9 p.m. It will be attended by Osama el-Azhari, the president's advisor for religious affairs; and  Ali el-Din Hilal, the former rapporteur of the Council's Political Science Committee.

 

Moreover, the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat concludes a training course on Human Resources Development held in cooperation between the Central Training Unit at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Training Department at the Museum of Civilization.

 

Within the framework of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina's celebration of Egypt's late leaders, the Center for Strategic Studies is organizing a symposium entitled "Abdel Nasser - half a century after his departure" at 12 p.m. in the Conference Center.

 

Last but not least, Chief Executive of the Egyptian Space Agency Mohamed el-Qosi and Ambassador of the Russian Federation, Giorgi Borisenko, will unveil the statue designed by the artist Alexei Leonov of the first astronaut in Russian history Yuri Gagarin at 12:00 p.m. at the headquarters of the Egyptian Space Agency in the Fifth Settlement.
