CAIRO – 23 September 2020: Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem said that the Ministry of Culture, represented by the General Authority for Cultural Palaces headed by Ahmed Awad, continues to implement the “Ahl Misr” [People of Egypt] program aimed at achieving cultural justice and integrating the people of the border regions and governorates with the people of Cairo and the Delta.

 

She added that the various activities include organizing many field visits to archaeological sites, museums, and national projects, the last of which was a visit to “Selections of European Art”, the fifth exhibition of the series “Treasures of our Art Museums”.

 

For his part, the head of the Culture Palaces Authority said that the “People of Egypt” initiative has so far implemented three cultural integration forums for children, youth and women.

 

The initiative presented 9 weeks of cultural integration for children from 12 to 15 years, during which 80 tour of monuments, 312 artistic workshops and 20 artistic performances were organized for 739 children. 

 

He added that the youth gatherings were held in Asmarat, Aswan and Matrouh, in which the people of the governorates of South and North Sinai, Matrouh, the Red Sea, Halayeb, Shalateen, Abu Ramad, Aswan al-Nuba and the New Valley benefited from them in addition to 180 young men and women.

 

Additionally, six women forums were held in cooperation with the National Council for Women to train and develop the skills of the people of the border regions on crafts, handicrafts and heritage, in the governorates of the Red Sea, Marsa Matrouh, Aswan, Assiut and the New Valley, with a total of 29 activities, benefitting 312 women, according to the head of the Culture Palaces Authority.
