CAIRO – 10 August 2020: Ambassador of Belgium in Egypt Sibille de Cartier expressed her fascination with Egypt’s unique Islamic heritage.

"End of mission 14/20. The Islamic heritage of #Egypt is all around. Getting lost in the small streets of Khen El-Khelili, wandering around the "City of the Dead" or visiting the beautiful madrasas and mosques of #DarbAlAhmar give another perspective on #Cairo. #thisisEgypt," tweeted Cartier.

De Cartier posted some photos for Khan el-Khalili and Darb el-Ahmar areas on her official Twitter account.

In 2017, the Belgian ambassador to Egypt inaugurated a photo exhibition in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, celebrating 150 years of Belgian royal visits to Egypt.

Cartier ensured at the exhibition’s opening, in the presence of Egyptian Minister of Antiquities Khaled al-Anany, the deep relations between the two countries that started about 150 years ago.

The relations between the two countries include fields like tourism, economy and antiquities.
