CAIRO – 7 July 2020: Egyptian plastic artist Sherine Badr won the Jury Award for the exhibition organized by the Indian Royal Academy of Arts and Culture in India (Gulbarga). Sherine Badr participated in a painting entitled "Al-Hudhud".

 

The aim of the virtual exhibition was to reach the creations of plastic artists around the world during the COVID-19 pandemic, revealing how they contributed with their artistic messages to raise awareness among people.

 

A total of 800 works from 13 countries applied for the exhibition, 521 of the submitted works were chosen to participate in the exhibition. Then, 145 works qualified for the Jury Award. Jury members chose 20 works to win the award.

 

The works were chosen on the basis of creativity, style and a theme that delivers a message to people to confront the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

It is worth mentioning that the winning artists represent Egypt, Iraq, Morocco, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Romania, USA, and China.
