CAIRO – 6 July 2020: Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem approved the program of reopening the museums affiliated to the Fine Arts Sector and the Cultural Development Fund.

 

Khaled Sorour, head of the Fine Arts Sector, said that the first stage of the resumption of activity in the museums of the Fine Arts Sector kicks off on July 7 in the Fine Arts Museums in Alexandria, as well as Mohamed Nagy and Mahmoud Mokhtar museums in Cairo. 

 

The second reopening phase begins on July 14 and includes the museums of Taha Hussein, Leader Gamal Abdel Nasser and Mustafa Kamel. He stressed that all the precautionary measures approved by the state to maintain the safety of visitors and workers amid the COVID-19 epidemic are taken.

 

For his part, Head of the Cultural Development Fund Fathi Abdel-Wahab confirmed that the first stage of the return of activities to the museums of the Cultural Development Fund falls on July 7, where Umm Kulthum Museum at El-Manesterly Palace, the Permanent Exhibition in Prince Taz Palace and the Products of the Luxor International Art Forum will all be opened.

 

The second stage will start on August 2 with opening Naguib Mahfouz Museum in Al-Azhar.
