CAIRO - 14 January 2020: Egypt participates in the second edition of the Arab Theater Festival in the first course shows, with "Yellow Days", produced by the Egyptian Hanager Theater.

The play is written by Daniela Janich, prepared by Omar Tawfik and directed by Ashraf Sanad.

This course is not a competition of any sort, as the Ruler of Sharjah Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad al-Qasimi Award for Best Theatrical Work of 2019 will be awarded for the second course shows.

The Arab Theater Festival’s second edition will run from Jan. 10 - Jan. 16. The judging panel is headed by veteran theater director Khaled Galal and includes Shatha Salem from Iraq, Lina Khoury from Lebanon, Adel al-Harbi from Sudan and Ihab Zahida from Palestine.

A total of 380 Arab theatrical shows will be participating in the festival’s second edition, under the slogan "The Theater’s Questions Lab and the Renovation Operator”. Fifteen Arab plays from eight Arab countries will be presented, six of which come within the first course and do not compete for Al Qasimi Award for Best Theatrical Show. Nine shows are presented within the second course and compete for Al-Qasimi Best Theatrical Work of 2019.
