CAIRO - 22 December 2019: The phenomenon of sudden death spread in our Arab society among young people.
Death news of young stars strikes the artistic community putting it in a state of shock that continues to resonate for months and even years at times.
The latest shocking news of that nature was related to Haitham Ahmed Zaki’s death, who died suddenly in his residence in 6 October City, due to a sudden circulatory collapse. Zaki’s death brought back sad memories as it reminded the public of the death of his late mother Hala Fouad while she was only in her thirties.

Omar Khorshid
The late musician Omar Khorshid passed away at the age of 36. He presented many musical works and composed the most famous songs of his time. Suddenly, on his way back from one of his errands, he had a terrible car accident at the end of Al Haram Street. His Lebanese wife Dina was accompanying him, in addition to the star Madiha Kamel. His death caused a great shock in the artistic community in Egypt as he passed away at the peak of his success and at a very young age.
Alaa Waley el-Din
The great comedian Alaa Waley el-Din died at the age of 40 at the peak of his artistic success where he presented a series of cinematic works that achieved fantastic revenues. During his participation in the film “Arabi Ta’refa”, he passed away on the first day of Eid al-Adha due to complications from his diabetes.
Hala Fouad
Hala Fouad, Haitham Ahmad Zaki’s mother also passed away at a very young age, precisely at the age of 35. In the late 1990s, she narrowly escaped from complications from a difficult birth for her second son, Rami, where she suffered strokes in her leg and was about to die. Shortly after she retired, she had breast cancer and started a long treatment trip between France and Cairo. She passed away on May 10, 1993.
Amro Samir
Samir started acting at 10 years old and worked as a presenter. He studied at the Faculty of Media, and after graduation he worked in Dream Channel and presented the successful youth program "Shababek". After a while, Samir worked in OTV channel and presented a program on his own. The late actor and presenter participated in Abla Kamel’s film “Awdat el-Nadla”, which was a turning point is his artistic career. Samir passed away at the age of 33 in one of the hotels in Spain due to a sudden circulatory collapse.
Maher Essam
The star Maher Essam has worked in the artistic community since his childhood. He passed away at the age of 39, where he suddenly fell into a coma. Essam died at dawn on June 17, 2018 after being agitated while watching the Egypt-Uruguay match at the World Cup.
Mirna el-Mohandes
Mohandes has passed away at the age of 39. She has a proven track record of cinematic and television works. However, she suffered from colon cancer for a lengthy period of time, battling it to no avail. She passed away on Aug. 5, 2018
