CAIRO - 4 December 2019: Jazz star Yehya Khalil will perform two concerts at the Egyptian Opera House on December 12 and 13, at the Small Theater at 8 p.m.

Khalil is scheduled to present several of his most famous musical compositions, in addition to his new musical compositions.

It is known that Khalil has stayed in the United Stated of America for more than 15 years, where he studied and starred as a drummer in numerous American bands.

Khalil is the master of jazz in Egypt and the Middle East. He was the first to blend Egyptian music with jazz music in the 1960s. He toured most of the world with his music and participated in many international festivals.

Khalil succeeded in creating a wide fan base from different age groups inside and outside Egypt. The jazz master presented over 5,000 concerts around the world.

Khalil formed the Cairo Jazz Quartet, the first jazz band in Egypt, at the age of 14. He shared the stage with a big number of famous rock, country and blues bands. He participated in joint performances with Rasputin’s Stash, and has performed with Jazz music icons such as Oliver Jones, and Dizzy Gillespie.

Khalil performed with Gillespie in the opening of the Cairo Opera House in 1989, according to Khalil’s official page.
