CAIRO - 14 June 2017: Egyptian Culture Minister Helmy Namnam discussed culture plans and events with Indonesian Ambassador in Cairo Helmy Fawzy on Tuesday.

Indonesia is currently celebrating 70 years of diplomatic cultural ties between the two countries. The Indonesian embassy will arrange for a concert at the Cairo Opera House in September. It will be attended by the foreign ministers of both countries.

Fawzy stated that he wishes that Egyptian culture would reach Indonesian citizens through films and translated drama art works, confirming that he grew up listening to Egyptian singer ‘Om Kalthoum,’ according to the Culture Ministry’s released statement.

Indonesia and Egypt partnered in participating in the Annual International Forum for Caricature. Indonesia is currently organizing a cultural evening at the Egyptian Diplomatic Center.
