CAIRO - 14 October 2019: The Entertainment Industry Forum kicked off on Oct. 13 at a Riyadh hotel in the presence of Chairman of the General Authority for Entertainment Turki Al-Sheikh.
The forum’s opening ceremony was attended by a large number of Saudi ministers and officials as well as famed stars of the field of entertainment from all over the world.

The Saudi News Agency (SPA) stated that the forum started with a discussion session entitled "Entertainment and Building the Economy", in which Turki Al-Sheikh, Minister of Economy and Planning Mohammed bin Mazid Al-Tuwaijri and Egyptian Minister of Culture in Egypt Inas Abdel Dayem spoke.

The session dealt with entertainment in Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, diversification of the economy and economic transformation, growth of the entertainment sector, enriching people's lives and improving the quality of life.
The launch of this forum comes to strengthen the Kingdom's presence on the map of the entertainment industry in the region.

Furthermore, the launch of the forum comes in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims at developing the kingdom's entertainment industry, enabling it to become an international center for mega entertainment events and an important base for businesses and talents associated with the entertainment industry. This is in addition to enabling the kingdom to act as an attractive investment environment by building strong partnerships to create, develop and invest in all relevant platforms, including infrastructure and utilities.

Al-Sheikh honored a number of stars from around the world, in recognition of their great efforts in this field. The honorees included Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Chinese star Jackie Chan, American star Jean-Claude Van Dam, Saudi star Nasser al-Qasabi, Kuwaiti star Suad Abdullah, Saudi mega star Mohammed Abdo and Egyptian stars Hani Shaker, Yousra, Ragaa el-Geddawi, and Issaad Younis,.
