CAIRO - 10 October 2019: On Oct. 9, the Minister of Antiquities observed the maintenance work held in the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir.

The maintenance and renovation works is implemented by the Environment Quality International Company, under the supervision of the members of the committee formed to evaluate the work of the company responsible for carrying out the renovation works at the museum.

The company includes professors and consultants from outside the Ministry of Antiquities, specializing in engineering, museum display, fine arts and restoration, in addition to Mo'men Osman, head of the museums sector, and Sabah Abdel Razek, director general of the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir.

Abdel Razek stated that the tour included inspecting all the halls and galleries included in the development work. The Minister of Antiquities Khaled el-Anany, was keen to review the original documents, maps and designs for the establishment of the museum, signed by the architect of the French Monuments Museum Marcel Dornion in 1899.

During the tour, the Minister of Antiquities and the members of the evaluation committee gave the executing company some instructions regarding painting the walls and ceilings of the museum to the exact original color recorded in the designs of the French architect.
