'Nora Tehlam' to screen in GFF on Sept. 24

CAIRO - 24 September 2019: The Tunisian film "Nora Tehlam" (Nora Dreams) starring Hend Sabry will screen at the third El Gouna Film Festival on Sept. 24.

The film will participate in the feature film competition at the festival and is scheduled to screen at 7 p.m. A red carpet will be held for the film’s cast and filmmakers.

Sabry arrived to El Gouna to attend the screening of her film after spending several days in Spain for the participation of her film in the San Sebastian International Film Festival.

“Nora Tehlam” also screened for the first time at the Toronto Film Festival where it participated in the Toronto International Film Festival’s Exploration Section.

Besides Sabry, the film stars Lotfi al-Abdali, Hakim Boumsoudi, Iman Cherif, Jamal Sassi and Saif al-Dareef. The film is directed by Hind Boudjemaa.

Sabry plays in the film the role of Nora, a poor Tunisian girl. The film sheds light on Nora's daily suffering with the imprisonment of her husband and the harassment she is exposed to because of his criminal history. The film also portrays how her relationship with her children and husband changes after he gets released from prison.
