Laila Elwi appointed member of jury in Malmo Film Festival

CAIRO - 8 September 2019: Malmo Arab Film Festival announced the members of the jury of the festival’s upcoming edition, which include a number of the most prominent Arab filmmakers.

The feature film committee consists of Egyptian actress LailaElwi, Tunisian director Reda el-Bahi and Iraqi critic QaisQasim.

The documentary films committee consists of Tunisian critics and programmer Tarek Ben Chaabane, Palestinian Lebanese director Mai Masri and Moroccan director Abdelilah el Gohary.

Moreover, the short films committee consists of critics WalidSeif from Egypt, Nabil Hajji from Algeria, and Moroccan MalakDahmouni, director of the Rabat Film Festival.

The festival aims to expand the screening of Arabic films in the Nordic countries, screening12 films in Helsingborg, and 17 films in Copenhagen, in cooperation with the Danish National Film Center's Danish Film Archive.

The festival opens with the screening of the Tunisian film "Fi Ainia" by NajibBelkadi.Set for October 8, the closing ceremony will host the premiere of the Egyptian film "Yom wa Leila” starring Ahmed el-Fishawy, Dorra and Hanan Metaweh and directed by Ayman Makram.
