CAIRO - 21 August 2019: Famed actor Mohamed Henedy congratulated the youth national handball team after winning the World Cup saying "I want to congratulate you, heroes. You made us so proud."

"They made their country proud and happy. A million congratulations, and thank you so very much," stated Henedy during a phone call to the program “Yahdoth fe masr” (Happens in Egypt) broadcast on MBC MASR on Aug. 20.

Towards the end of the phone call the famed comedian invited the handball world cup champions to attend his play “Talat Ayam fel Sahel” (Three days in Sahel), saying “I would be honored with their attendance. This is the least I can offer those heroes.”

The delegation of the national U-19 handball team arrived in Cairo on Aug. 20, coming from Macedonia, after winning the World Cup for the first time in history.

The handball delegation was greeted at Cairo International Airport by Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy, and President of the Egyptian Handball Federation Hisham Nasr.

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi awarded the players and coaching staff the first class sports medal.
