CAIRO – 11 August 2019: The famed band, Black Theama, will perform at El Sawy Cultural Wheel on August 14 as part of Eid el- Adha celebrations.

The popular band released their recent album ‘’Loun el-Kakaw’’ (The Cocoa Colour) in Eid el-Fitr. "Loun el Kakaw" contains five Nubian songs, musically distributed in a modern way.

The band performed at El Sawy Cultural Wheel on June 6 in celebration of Eid el-Fitr and their new album. Also, they performed a massive concert in August 2018 at El Sawy Cultural Wheel to celebrate the prominent band’s 14th anniversary.

Black Theama chose El Sawy Cultural Wheel because it was the same place and the same theatre that witnessed their first concert 14 years ago.

Founded in 2004 by Amir Salah el-Deen, originally a member in Karisma theatrical troupe, the three-member band presents a wide range of music styles, including Nubian rhythms, reggae, hip-hop, R&B and African music.

The band infuses traditional Nubian folk songs with modern beats. Over the years, the band collaborated with many other bands and musicians such as Massar Egbari and Cairokee.

Black Theama represented Egypt in different international competitions; they were nominated at the 2013 World Music Awards for the Best Group, Best Live Act, Best Song and Best Video Clip awards for the song "Fi Belad Al-Ayy Haga"
