CAIRO - 9 June 2019: The opening of "Selfie" exhibition by Egyptian Artist Mona Sami will be on June 9 at 7 pm.

The exhibition will be inaugurated by the head of the plastic arts department Dr. Khaled Sorour.

"Selfie" will take place in the changing exhibition hall in the museum of Effat Nagy and Saad el-Khadem and comes under the patronage of the Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem.

It will resume until June 23, according to the museum’s official statement. In her exhibition “Selfie”, artist Mona Sami presents the intellectual content of the art of the portrait.

Sami is a teacher of drawing and photography at the Faculty of Specific Education Department of Art Education Ain Shams University. She holds a master's degree in photography and a PhD in specific education. The artist is also a member of the National Association of Fine Arts group, in addition to the Plastic Arts letters group.

Effat Nagy and Saad el-Khadem Museum is located in Zaytoon district of Cairo. It hosts collection of works by both artists totaling up to 198 artistic pieces. The museum also display a collection of pottery, in addition to a library that houses rare books.


The museum was established to preserve and host the heritage works of artists Effat Nagy, and her companion and teacher Saad el-Khadem. Both artists were considered as two of the most pioneering artists in the field of folk art and studies in Egypt in the second half of the twentieth century. The museum was established on April 8, 2001.
